MISS Andretti provided her managing owner, Sean Buckley, with a number of thrills through her racing and after a nervous wait, the 2007 Australian Racehorse of the Year provided Buckley with a thrill of a different kind yesterday.
She delivered her first foal, a chestnut colt by Exceed And Excel, at Toolooganvale Stud in the Hunter Valley.
“She was two weeks late so we were getting a little anxious and then it was a difficult birth because the foal presented the wrong way around,” Buckley said. “They tell me he is a good size and has straight legs and both of them are fine so I’m really happy.”
Buckley said the colt would be offered at the 2011 yearling sales and realistically bring in $750,000 to $1.5 million.
